02The project story

Behind the experience

The thinking, delivery and outcome

Five hospitality environments. One joined-up live event system.

Silverstone Circuits needed five distinctive premium hospitality environments for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Each area required its own identity, guest facilities and entertainment programme, while every part of the experience had to perform safely in an exposed outdoor setting.

The ambition was bigger than a one-off build. The environments needed to feel considered and premium on opening day, adapt from live daytime coverage to evening entertainment, and create durable assets that could evolve over successive years.

Turning creative intent into live, operational spaces.

Hub9 developed the initial concepts into buildable environments, translating each visual identity into entrances, structural features, panel-specific graphics, landscaping, furniture and technical systems. Design decisions were tested against the realities of public-event compliance, secure access, installation sequencing and changing weather.

Material choices were made for performance as well as appearance. Weather-resistant graphics, treated build elements and non-slip floor finishes helped the environments remain safe and presentable through heat, rain and waterlogged ground conditions.

Designed for the full rhythm of the event.

AV, screens and lighting were treated as part of each environment rather than a separate equipment layer. Guests could follow live coverage during the day, while the same technical infrastructure supported comedy, live music and evening club programming later on.

Multipurpose lighting rigs reduced changeover pressure between uses. Creative, workshop, graphics, build, AV, lighting, logistics, project management and health-and-safety expertise were coordinated through one Hub9 team, giving Silverstone a clear route through a large and evolving programme.

Complexity absorbed behind the scenes.

Structures, entrance features, podiums and branded panels were manufactured and prepared ahead of time. Scheduled deliveries were aligned with venue security, multiple areas were installed in parallel and technical support remained available throughout the live event.

When requirements developed close to delivery, the integrated team could respond without turning change into a client problem. The result was a calm, coordinated process across five very different guest environments.

Built to return, adapt and improve.

The programme has continued across multiple years, with manufactured components, furniture and other assets retained for reuse. Storing and evolving the system reduced unnecessary remanufacture while protecting consistency and giving each new edition a strong starting point.

The relationship has also grown beyond this programme, with Hub9 supporting other Silverstone corporate events and receiving referrals for technical delivery. It demonstrates a live-event capability that joins design ambition, physical production and operational reliability in one accountable service.
