02The project story
The thinking, delivery and outcome
Yale needed a high-spec exhibition stand at IFA Berlin that could bring its full range of connected home products together in one clear, welcoming environment. The client supplied the initial concept and visuals; Hub9 developed them into a practical 11.5m × 6.5m stand ready for manufacture, installation and live use.
The concept took its cues from the familiar structure of a house. Tall roofline forms, warm timber details and bright open elevations made the stand immediately legible from the aisle, while the generous backdrop gave Yale strong visibility across a busy exhibition hall.
Hub9 developed the design and produced the working drawings required for construction. Every display, lighting detail and digital touchpoint was resolved as part of one coherent environment, balancing a premium finish with the practical demands of product demonstration, visitor flow and repeated daily use.
The available build height was used deliberately. The high backdrop concealed distracting venue surfaces and delivered confident branding without the cost and complexity of an additional suspended banner.
At the centre of the stand, illuminated counters and product shelves presented Yale’s innovations at a comfortable browsing height. Pull-out information graphics gave visitors more detail without cluttering the main display, while underlighting helped the central product area feel light, precise and inviting.
A 4m × 2.5m LED wall carried key brand messaging at scale. iPads and a touchscreen supported deeper product exploration, creating a layered visitor journey from long-distance recognition to hands-on discovery. Halo-lit logos maintained visibility across the stand and reinforced the premium finish.
The completed environment was open on multiple sides, helping visitors enter naturally rather than creating a closed showroom. Product presentation, digital content, lighting and hospitality were brought together without losing the simple visual idea of a connected home.
The stand was stored after its first use, then modified and returned for a second year. That planned reuse extended the value of the original build while allowing the experience to evolve around new products and updated communication.
